HeatSmart is software for the pocket PC (PDA) and Windows Mobile 5 & 6 (Smartphone with touchscreen) only. Especially designed for Heating Installers to calculate and document dwelling heating requirements.

HeatSmart is the electronic version of the highly respected Mear’s ‘Domestic Central Heating Calculator'. You can now have all the benefits of the Mear’s Domestic Heating Calculator instantly available on your Pocket PC.

As well as enabling quick and easy calculation of radiator and boiler sizes, HeatSmart will allow all calculations to be saved in the software or printed as a report. Consequently, it will provide a complete audit trail to demonstrate compliance with relevant regulations and best practice procedures. Such information may also become part of future ‘home information packs’.

There are two separate calculators included in the “Heatsmart” software package:

Central Heating – calculates the radiator size for an individual room.
Boiler Sizing – calculates the boiler size for a whole dwelling.

Both calculators have the facility to simply store the calculation data or to store and generate a report which may be downloaded and printed. The Admin function allows you to store your company details for use on the reports. Simply enter your clients’ details then enter dimensions and select variables from dropdown lists to generate the Radiator or Boiler size required. All calculations are made from first principles.

CENTRAL HEATING – calculates the radiator size for an individual room

Make sure you install the correct radiator with this easy to use package. The software calculates the radiator heating capacity required and then generates a report showing the heat loss details.

Enter the room details on screen to identify
the room use and shape.

Then enter wall, window and
door dimensions.

Handy drop down lists make light work of adding the thermal properties of the various building elements. You can also enter your own values.

The information you have entered is then used to calculate the individual
element heat losses. A contingency is applied and the
appropriate radiator size displayed.

BOILER SIZING – calculates the boiler size for a whole dwelling

Use the Boiler Sizing calculator to determine the heating capacity of the boiler.

Simply enter the building details onto the screen

Then enter the materials used and location, once again handy drop down menus make this quick and easy.

The result is shown with details of the ventilation and fabric losses.
